CONVENTIONAL PALLET RACKING

Conventional pallet racking is the perfect industrial shelving solution, for storing small light components to giant heavy cartons to fit for your loading requirements, due to the flexibility of adjusting height and configuration with different choices of metal shelving. Racking arranged in this way gives high quality storage but may only utilise 40% of the available floor space, the rest being access aisles. However, fast throughput and ease of loading and unloading make this type of storage extremely popular.

In any racking layout, there are four main considerations.
a. The space occupied by the unit load and the storage system.
b. The width of the aisles between the unit loads to facilitate access.
c. The width of the gangways running at right angles to the aisles.
d. Any other areas allocated to marshalling areas, vehicle loading and fire escape routes.

Key Features of Adjustable Pallet Racking
Floor Space Utilisation – Good (approximately 30%)
Speed of Throughput – Very good. More than one truck can access rack faces at the same time.
Stock Rotation – Easily achieved.
Selection and Order Picking – Very good. All individual loads are accessible.
Stock Variability – Standard pallets can hold different goods.
Safety of Goods – Very good. All pallets are individually supported in the rack.
Handling Equipment – Any conventional truck.
